About us

Our calling

Jesus devotedly worked to break down the barriers between different ethnic groups and to make a way that anyone who trusted in him could be part of God's eternal Home for All Nations.

Jesus asked his followers to extend this invitation to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people. We are called to be ambassadors for God, showing His compassion through helpful actions and telling ABOUT his path for mercy through what jesus has done.

God's solution

Through present-day migration and mobility we are easily able to participate in God's beautiful mission.

"we should be able to see in the multiplying opportunities to reach many foreigners in America a divinely appointed means of rapidly extending the third angel’s message into all the nations of earth.

God in His providence has brought men to our very doors and thrust them, as it were, into our arms, that they might learn the truth, and be qualified to do a work we could not do in getting the light before men of other tongues" (Ellen White, Evangelism, 570).

Our story

"Love the Stranger."

Home for All Nations is based in America's fifth largest metro area, Houston, one of the most diverse cities in the United States. 1 in every 4 persons living here was not born in America. Waves of refugees have moved here, starting with the Vietnamese in the 1970s, growing with those coming from Central America, and most recently expanding with those from Afghanistan. Houston is a wonderful place to follow the example of God who "loves the stranger, giving him food and clothing" (Deuteronomy 10:18). Home for All Nations is presently focused especially on serving Afghans, Chinese, and Southeast Asians.

Home for All Nations is a new organization, but it is a continuation of the last eight years of ministry led by Pastor Scott and Julie Griswold. They moved here because they knew people in need had moved from all over the world. Many volunteers have served alongside them, holding Pathfinder and Adventurer Clubs for refugee children while also having women support groups for the mothers. The team has organized distributions of clothing, food, and necessities. Volunteers have provided health expos and taught nutrition classes along with sharing Bible studies and starting new worship groups.

Home for All Nations gratefully acknowledges the previous support from ASAP Ministries, in the Reach the World Next Door project, and from the Texas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and other denominational entities and individuals. Home for All Nations as its own nonprofit organization is no longer affiliated with them, but seeks to continue partnering in meaningful ways.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

If you would like to learn more please use the contact form above.

Why are you focused on refugees?

1 in 70 people in the world has been forced from his or her home, neighborhood, school, and work. Most refugees are stuck in camp for over ten years. The transition to a third country is traumatic and the losses are great. We focus here because love flows toward the great need.

It's also because Jesus emphasized that the way we treat "the stranger" shows if we have love for Him. 2,000 years ago in the middle of a world divided by politics and religion, poverty, and wealth, Jesus invited everyone to be part of God’s family.

We know this is what we would want done for us if we were in their shoes.

Are you funded by the government?

No. Government funding for this kind of ministry is very limited at this time. This ministry is privately funded by those who share these goals and want to help through their personal donations. We do not accept money from the government or tithe from church members.

Can I get a tax-deductible receipt for my donation?

Yes you can. Home for All Nations is incorporated in Texas as a nonprofit organization and is recognized by the IRS as 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity within the U.S. laws. You will receive a tax-exempt receipt summary in January of each year.

Why is monthly giving so important?

This enables us to budget wisely and to invest in long-term, effective ministry. Knowing we can count on regular donations helps us to serve regularly and faithfully.

How can I help my church have a heart for the needs of refugees and others who have not had a chance to know Jesus?

We would be happy to pray with you and give you advice. Contact us at scott@homeforallnations.org or call +1.707.380.9554. You can speak with Julie Griswold at +1.707.380.9864.

ASAP Ministries has a cross-cultural missions training resource that you can do in a youth group, a Pathfinder Club, or any small group. It's called Reach the World Next Door.

Who are you affiliated with?

Our team is made up of Seventh-day Adventist Christians. We have no direct affiliations with any other organization.
