Uncover your Mission

Facing Disabilities

Around 70 million are deaf and 40 million are blind. 100 million require a wheelchair to be mobile. Jesus wants to strengthen their bones through encouragement and ultimate healing!

Close your eyes and imagine never seeing light or color. Plug your ears and imagine a world of silence. Sit still and picture needing someone else to move you wherever you want to go.

Now consider that this is daily life for hundreds of millions of people living with disabilities. An estimated 1.3 billion people about 1 in 6 worldwide  live with a significant disability. This means that around 16% of the global population experiences some form of disability today, and the number is rising due to aging populations and chronic health conditions.

Disability is not rare. And it is not distant.

Blindness, deafness, and limited mobility are strongly linked to poverty.
Many disabilities are caused or worsened by:

  • Untreated infections and preventable diseases
  • Malnutrition and unsafe drinking water
  • Poor sanitation and lack of basic healthcare
  • Limited access to corrective surgeries or assistive devices

Diseases such as polio, largely eliminated in wealthy nations, still leave many in poorer regions unable to walk. What could often be prevented or treated instead becomes a lifelong limitation.

For many with disabilities, the struggle is not only physical.
It is exclusion.
Isolation.
Dependence.
Lost opportunity.

How might God use your awareness, resources, or skills to bring dignity and hope to someone living with a disability?
