There are 318 million homeless in the world and 1.6 billion lack adequate housing. Jesus urges, Bring to your house the poor who are cast out! (Isaiah 58:7)

What is it like to live without shelter and warmth? How dangerous is it? How deeply does this undermine a person's sense of self-respect? Some of the largest numbers out of the 150 million homeless worldwide are in Pakistan, Syria, and Bangladesh.
There are around 650,000 homeless in the USA with the highest numbers in New York City and Los Angeles. Homelessness comes from many factors including lacking of affordable housing, economic crises, medical debt, and mental health issues.
Is it possible to relieve such suffering, revealing God truly cares? Jesus' life shows we can, one life at a time. His prophetic Isaiah 58 commission calls all. Jesus urges, bring to your house the poor who are cast out! (Isaiah 58:7)
Will you devote yourself to uncover your part?
SALT Ministries did it. They started in Orlando Florida by serving the unsheltered through mobile outreach centers that provide bathrooms and showers. They also work to provide permanent housing solutions and empower self-sufficiency. They have now expanded into several other cities and have a vision to see a solid center in every US city that ministers to the homeless. SALT stands for Service and Love Together. Learn more about what they have done and how you can volunteer to help.
